A Kite Surfer has died after slamming into a South Florida home.

Local10.com reports that the tragedy occurred on Wednesday morning when the kite surfer went airborne from the beach in the vicinity of Northeast 27th Street and North Ocean Boulevard.

The victim collided with the home and was severely injured. First responders transported the victim to Broward Health Medical Center where he died at about 1 p.m.

According to the victim’s friends, he was an avid kite surfer in his 60s who had been enjoying the hobby for years.

“I keep thinking I should’ve been there this morning, but I can’t think that because Freddy was a very intelligent waterman,” the victim’s friend, Mike Bradley, told Local10.
