Johnson & Johnson Pulling Talc Powder Worldwide Following Persistent Lawsuits

Johnson & Johnson will stop selling talc powder worldwide in 2023 the company has said.

Local10.com reports that the decision comes after the company has already stopped selling the power in the United States and Canada.

The move is likely the result of persistent lawsuits alleging that talcum powder contributes to the development of ovarian cancer and mesothelioma.

Though Johnson & Johnson insists that research has deemed talc powder safe, the company has seen waning demand for its talc powder products in light of the lawsuits.

The company says that it will replace talc powder products with similar products made of cornstarch.
