A couple was killed in a boating crash in early December, when their Jet Ski collided with a boat near Lover’s Key State Park.
WinkNews.com reports that the crash occurred at about 12:00 p.m. December 9 when the couple was riding a Jet Ski near Flippers on the Bay. Apparently, both the Jet Ski and the boat were traveling at a high rate of speed when they collided near the Big Carlos Pass Bridge.
The crash threw the pair from the jetski, prompting Good Samaritans in the area to rush to their aide. But despite their best efforts, both the male and female victims died from their injuries.
“I just heard this real loud boom… and then there was a gasp from the restaurant,” said ENT surgeon Dr. Rob Kopp, a witness to the incident. Kppp added that he believes that people need to be “careful because these types of accidents and injuries can occur,”
