Grandmother Laments Loss of 3-Year-Old in South Florida Crash

A South Florida grandmother is mourning the loss of her 3-year-old grandson after he was killed in a crash Thursday morning.

Local10.com reports that the toddler was killed, along with the boyfriend of the toddler’s mother, in a crash at North University Drive near Northwest Fifth Street. Apparently, the boyfriend and the toddler’s mother had gotten into an argument when the boyfriend grabbed the toddler and left the scene.

As the boyfriend was driving away he seemingly lost control of the vehicle, causing the crash that killed him and the toddler.

“I heard two booming sounds right after the crash and then a woman screaming for her baby,” said a woman who lives near the crash scene.

As of now, Plantation police have not determined whether speed was a factor in the crash.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal wreck.
