Five People Killed in Florida Car Crash – One Child In Critical Condition

Five people were killed in a Florida car crash on Friday, and a minor was left in critical condition.

WEARTV.com reports that the crash occurred at about 6:15 a.m. when a car carrying five people was traveling south on State Road 85. The car crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a vehicle that only had a driver. The impact killed all four adults in the car that had crossed the median, reports WEARTV.com, and also killed the 19-year-old driver of the vehicle that had been traveling in the northbound lane.

An 8-year-old child was also traveling in the vehicle that crossed over into the northbound lane. The child was left severely injured in the crash.

The horrific crash left State Road 85 closed for several hours while rescue workers attempted to assist the victims.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the tragedy.
