I have been on #NorwegianJewel for last wk and half. We sadly lost a passenger overboard 2 nights ago. Believe his wife was still onboard as of this morning. Mood on ship was very somber. Nothing could be done. Wasn’t discovered for 1.5 hours.

9News.com.au interviewed a passenger who reported that the ship stopped in order to search for the missing passenger. An airforce aircraft also joined in the search. The passenger speculated that the ship’s diversion may cause it to skip at least one of its scheduled stops.
As of now, there has been no additional information about the missing passenger or the missing passenger’s fate.
