Child Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash in Homestead

A child has died following a hit-and-run crash in Homestead.

Local10.com reports that the crash occurred on Saturday and the vicinity of the 600 block of Southwest 14th Avenue when a car struck the five-year-old child and then fled the scene.

First responders transported the child in critical condition to Kendall Regional Trauma Center by helicopter. The child later died from the injuries that the child suffered in the collision.

Homestead the police are investigating the matter and looking for the driver of the vehicle that struck the child.
