A crash involving a Brightline train left at least two people hospitalized Thursday.
While initial reports indicated that just one person was harmed, WSVN.com now reports that at least two people are in the hospital following the collision. Apparently, the vehicle stopped on the tracks just as the guardrails were coming down. Officials did not offer an explanation as to why.

The crash occurred at about 8:30 a.m. in the vicinity of North Miami Avenue and 20th Street when the train struck an SUV occupied by three people. First responders had to extract a victim from the back of the vehicle.
“Immediately we made access into the vehicle, which had one male victim inside. We were able to remove him from the rear of the hatchback because the crossguard arm had impaled itself into the window of the vehicle, said City of Miami Fire Rescue spokesman Pete Sanchez in a statement.
Officials expect all the victims of the crash to recuperate fully from their injuries.
