Authorities have identified the woman who was killed in a Clay County boating accident on Tuesday.

News4Jax.com reports that the victim, 57-year-old Elizabeth Spisak, took to the water on Lake Geneva in a 12-foot canoe with 68-year-old Paul Kolomitz. Neighbors reportedly identify Kolomitz as Spisak’s boyfriend.

For reasons that authorities still have not determined the canoe, which has an outboard motor, turned over and threw the pair into the lake.

Though Kolomitz was able to pull Spisak to shore and perform CPR, she nevertheless died from her injuries.

The report says that David Jones, owner of DJ’s Kayak Rentals, says that the kind of canoe the pair was using can be difficult to turn upright after tipping over.
