First responders rescued three people from a distressed boat off Haulover Beach on Friday.
WSVN.com reports that the three men were aboard a 30-foot green vessel when it began taking on water. The men were able to call for help, prompting a response from the US Coast Guard.
Meanwhile, a good Samaritan came to the men’s aid, bringing them aboard his boat while waiting for the Coast Guard.
Through a translator, one of the victims said: “The boat sank, but we are OK…We were fishing offshore, and the boat began to sink.”
Apparently, towboats were able to locate the distressed vessel and attempt to pull it back to shore.
