Woman Driving Maserati Strikes and Kills Ferrari Driver

A woman driving a Maserati struck and killed a Ferrari driver, police allege.

Local10.com reports that 33-year-old Holland Dell Beach resident Irina Borisova Shadrina was driving on the Intercoastal Waterway on October 15 at about 10:52 pm. The victim, Lionel Michael Marquez, was experiencing issues with his Ferrari and stopped on a bridge to check the vehicle’s engine. As Shadrina approached Marquez she swerved suddenly and struck him, throwing him into the air and sending him falling into the waterway.

Witnesses told investigators that they saw someone strike Marquez. Shadrina continued to drive for approximately another 450 feet before the wheel of her Maserati selloff.

Rescue workers found Marquez dead in the waterway about 12 hours after the collision.

Investigators took blood samples from Shadrina on the night of the crash and determined that she had been legally intoxicated when she struck Marquez.

“The defendant’s decision to drive her vehicle while being so heavily intoxicated in an urban area that is traveled by many motorists demonstrates a reckless disregard for the safety of others and herself,” the investigative report said.
