A South Florida man is facing criminal charges relating to a deadly hit and run crash, and investigators now say that he is no stranger to the law.

Local10.com reports that 44-year-old Devin Doer had been arrested and convicted of DUI at least five times since 1998. Authorities now believe that Doers was responsible for a deadly crash at about 6:30 a.m. on Friday near the 3400 block of Nob Hill Road.

Apparently, Doers was driving a gray Chevrolet Equinox when he allegedly struck a bicyclist and then fled the scene. Authorities transported the bicyclist, senior citizen Jurgen Baum, to Broward Health Medical Center, where he later died.

Police recovered vehicle debris at the scene and were able to match serial numbers on some of the pieces to Doers' vehicle.

Doers is now facing multiple charges including reckless driving, failing to remain at the scene of the crash resulting in death, and tampering with physical evidence.
