A police chase Wednesday resulted in a multi-vehicle crash and multiple injuries.
WFLA.com reports that the pursuit began in Tampa, Florida when police attempted to stop a group of auto burglary suspects. Tampa police were responding to reports of six auto burglaries Wednesday morning, all within a one-mile radius, with some of the burglary reports indicating that the suspect was driving a potentially stolen white Honda SUV.
When police spotted the Honda SUV suspected to be involved in the burglaries at approximately 1:00 p.m., the officers attempted to stop the vehicle, initiating a car chase that lasted approximately 45 minutes.
The suspects led police from Tampa to Kissimmee where the Honda crashed into a 57-year-old man, seriously injuring him. Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the SUV, a 16-year-old male, was also seriously hurt in the crash and was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. The two other occupants of the SUV, an 18-year-old man, and a 20-year-old man, were both arrested for auto burglary.
