DANIA BEACH, FL - A new development was reported in the investigation into a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in Broward County earlier this month.

This is an update to a previous story.

WSVN reported that the vehicle that struck 42-year-old Brenda Martinez in Dania Beach May 5 and left the scene has now been identified.

Martinez had fallen off a bicycle when she was hit in the 2300 block of West State Road 84 near Southwest 22nd Terrace at about 11:30 p.m.  The Broward Sheriff’s Office said the vehicle involved was a newer-model blue Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck that may have possible front-end damage.

Martinez's family issued a plea for the driver to come forward, and Broward County Crime Stoppers released a flier asking for the public’s help in providing any information on the case.
