MIAMI, FL - Police and emergency crews were at the scene of a deadly accident on Interstate 95 in Miami early Monday morning, according to WSVN.
Authorities said a box truck hit the back of an SUV on I-95 north near the exit for Northwest 62nd Street at about 3:30 a.m. The impact caused the box truck to go up in flames.
The driver of the SUV was trapped inside their vehicle and sustained fatal injuries. The truck driver was not injured.
Traffic was backed up on I-95 as the northbound lanes were blocked near the crash scene before reopening later in the morning. Motorists were advised to take alternate routes, including US 441.
The crash is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
