According to WPLG, the latest incident happened in the area of Garfield Street and North Dixie Highway when the driver of a Jeep Wrangler attempted to go around the crossing arms at the railroad tracks after they had come down.

The train crashed into the Jeep, which then flipped over,  The driver was ejected and was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver had been speeding just prior to the collision, witnesses said.

On Monday, a pickup truck was hit by a Brightline train when the driver tried to go around crossing arms that were down in Pompano Beach.  The truck driver, 27-year-old Jake Bresnehan, was killed in the accident.

Police and railroad officials have been reminding drivers to wait and not try to drive around the gates at railroad crossings when they are down, and to never try and beat a train.
