BOCA RATON, FL - A woman was killed when her motorcycle was involved in a collision with an SUV in Boca Raton on Sunday, according to the Palm Beach Post.

The incident happened in the vicinity of Powerline Road and Southwest 18th Street at about 1:45 p.m. The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said the driver of a Volkswagen Tiguan was about to make a turn onto Southwest 18th Street when two motorcycles approached the intersection.

One of the motorcycles, a Suzuki GSX operated by 27-year-old Kristina Spadavecchia, struck the passenger side of the SUV and she was thrown to the road.

Spadavecchia, a resident of Lighthouse Point, was transported to Delray Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The other motorcyclist was able to avoid hitting the SUV.
