News: Authorities searching for driver involved in hit-and-run death of pedestrian in Central Broward

CENTRAL BROWARD, FL – The Broward County Sheriff’s Office reports it is trying to locate the driver wanted for the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian early Monday.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene in the 3100 block of West Sunrise Boulevard in unincorporated Central Broward shortly after 1:15 a.m.  Investigators determined that the pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while trying to cross the eastbound lanes of West Sunrise Boulevard.

The driver left the scene after the incident, going east on West Sunrise Boulevard.  Witnesses told detectives that the vehicle involved in the crash was a silver or white 4-door with dark tinted windows. The vehicle is likely to have damage to the passenger side front, hood and possibly the windshield, the sheriff’s office said.. 

Anyone with information regarding the crash was asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives or Broward Crime Stoppers.
