News: 4 dead, including 2 teens, in Palm Beach Gardens car wreck

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – Four people were killed when two sport utility vehicles collided in Palm Beach Gardens on Friday afternoon, according to the Palm Beach Post.

The accident happened on the Beeline Highway near PGA Boulevard at about 4:09 p.m. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said a 17-year-old was driving a northbound Nissan Rogue recklessly and went through a red light at PGA Boulevard.

The Rogue collided with a Nissan XTerra SUV that was making a left turn onto the Beeline Highway when the light turned green. The XTerra rolled over, while the Rogue skidded into the highway’s southbound lanes.

The driver and a passenger in the XTerra were pronounced dead at the scene.  Two passengers in the Rogue were also killed, a 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl.

The driver of the Rogue was hospitalized in critical condition. He was suspected by deputies to have been drinking alcohol or taking drugs, and charges were pending in the case.
