News: 17-year-old charged as adult in car wreck that killed 4 in Palm Beach Gardens

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL – A 17-year-old driver has been charged as an adult in a car accident in Palm Beach Gardens that left four people dead, WPTV reports.

This is an update to a previous story.

The crash occurred July 30 on the Beeline Highway near PGA Boulevard. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the 17-year-old was driving a stolen Nissan Rogue recklessly and went through a red light at PGA Boulevard.

The Rogue collided with a Nissan XTerra SUV that was making a turn onto the Beeline Highway when the light turned green. The driver and a passenger in the XTerra were pronounced dead at the scene.  Two passengers in the Rogue were also killed, a 17-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl.

The driver of the Rogue was in court Tuesday to face multiple charges, including four counts each of vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter.  He was allegedly driving while under the influence of marijuana.
