News: 1 dead, 3 injured after SUV crashes on I-75 in Broward County

 BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Authorities say an SUV crashed on Interstate 75 Wednesday morning, leaving one person dead and three others injured.

NBC Miami reports the accident occurred on I-75 south near Miramar Parkway shortly before 1:45 a.m.  The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the SUV lost control and struck a guardrail before slamming into a concrete wall.

One passenger, a 60-year-old woman, was pronounced dead after being transported to Memorial Regional Hospital.  The driver, a 30-year-old woman, was seriously injured and hospitalized.

There were two other passengers in the vehicle, a 30-year-old man and an 8-year-old boy, who both sustained minor injuries.  The four people in the vehicle were all Miami residents.

The FHP is investigating the cause of the wreck.
