More Information about Priest Accused of Cruise Ship Sexual Assault

Authorities have released more information about the Catholic Church reverend who was arrested recently on suspicion of sexually harassing a cruise ship masseuse.

FoxNews.com reports that authorities have charged Mount Vernon, Alabama reverend Amal Samy with sexual abuse charges stemming from the incident aboard the Carnival Fantasy in August. Samy is a priest with the Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama.

Samy allegedly inappropriately touched a woman massage technician while he was receiving a massage aboard the ship. According to various reports, Samy then exposed himself to the woman and asked her to perform a sexual act on him.

Samy denies the allegations against him.

In a statement, published in part by FoxNews.com, the archdiocese said “The Archdiocese of Mobile learned last week of the allegation against Father Amal Samy, H.G.N. Father Samy denies the allegation. The Archdiocese takes all such allegations seriously. It is our policy not to comment on pending legal matters.”
