Miami Mother Launches Investigation to Find Son’s Hit-and-Run Killer

A South Florida mother is taking matters into her own hands and launching an investigation to find the hit-and-run driver who took her son’s life.

Last weekend Stephan Maze, an American Airlines Arena security guard, was killed in a hit-and-run crash while on his way to work. According to Local10.com, witnesses to the crash say that the perpetrator crashed into Maze, exited the damaged vehicle, then left the crash scene in another vehicle.

The suspect has yet to be identified, much less caught by police.

In the wake of her son’s death and the police’s failure to find his killer, Maze’s mother has hired an attorney to help fight for justice for her son. The report says that the attorney is conducting a parallel investigation, in addition to the investigation that police are conducting.

The investigation seems to be yielding results: Maze’s family say that they were able to determine the make and model of the vehicle that struck him by analyzing debris left at the crash scene.

The family has established a GoFundMe page to help cover the financial costs of Maze’s death.
