Boat Strikes and Gets Stuck Under Bridge in Fort Lauderdale

A party boat was involved in a collision with a Fort Lauderdale bridge late last month.

Sun-Sentinel.com reports that the 137-foot yacht was left stuck under the Sunrise Boulevard Bridge after it attempted to dock at the Doubletree suites Hotel next to the Intercoastal, but struck the bridge instead.

According to the president of the Nurmi Isles Homeowners Association, Suzee Bailey, no one was hurt in the collision.

Officials inspected the bridge and found no initial signs of damage but resolved to further inspect the bridge.

According to the president of Sun Dream Yacht Charters, Bob Brantmeyer, the yacht suffered a mechanical issue that caused the bow of the boat to travel under the bridge.
