The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission lost one of its employees this week when she was involved in a boating accident in Palm Beach County.

CBS12.com reports that the boat in which the employee was traveling collided with a concrete piling in a canal under the Congress Avenue ramp to Southern Boulevard.  Authorities have identified the victim as 29-year-old Dana Katz of Hypoluxo.

Two other people were also injured in the collision.  Authorities have not released their names or discussed their medical conditions.

In a statement regarding the crash, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said:

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of FWC Fisheries Biologist Dana Katz after a boating accident that occurred on Tuesday, October 27 in Palm Beach County. Two additional FWC staff members were also aboard the boat and were transported to a local hospital where they remain in stable condition.
