Cruise Ship Causes Millions of Dollars of Damage after Colliding with Pier in Guam

A cruise ship in Guam caused major damage to a pier after crashing into it today.

The ship collided with Delta Pier on Guam, as it carried 500 passengers and 224 crew, causing a response by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Newsweek.com reports that the damage may amount to several million dollars, and the exact figure is expected to approach $3 million.

Though no images of the damage were readily available, the report indicates that the ship suffered a five foot by seven foot breach in the incident.

In statement, Joann Brown of the Port Authority of Guam said “The accident is unfortunate but we are thankful that the passengers and crew members were not injured.”
