Truck Crashes into Mini-Golf Course Killing Two Children

Two children were killed last week when a truck crashed into the mini-golf course on which they were playing.

NBCNews.com reports that the tragedy occurred on Friday in Panama City Beach, Florida when the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, Scott Donaldson, allegedly crashed the truck into Coconut Creek Golf and Maze. The crash killed siblings, a 6-year-old girl, and a 4-year-old boy, as they played on the course with their family, the report says.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the children but did say that they were in Panama City Beach visiting from Louisville, Kentucky.

Police have not indicated what they believe to be the cause of the crash, and the NBC article did not indicate if police believe that substance abuse may have been a factor. In a statement, police spokesperson Debbie Ward sent thoughts and prayers to the children’s family.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
