DEERFIELD BEACH, FL - A man is under arrest after authorities said he left the scene of a crash in Coconut Creek last month.

According to NBC Miami, the suspect was identified as 27-year-old Jacob Jose Roman of Deerfield Beach.  The accident happened Aug. 27 on N. State Road 7 near the Riverstone Shoppes plaza, where police said Roman was driving a car that struck a motorcyclist at about 4:30 a.m.

Surveillance video showed that a man got out of the car, looked at the motorcyclist and fled on foot, abandoning the car.

Roman's father later reported that the car, a Ford Crown Victoria, had been stolen from him.  Jacob Jose Roman's manager at the hotel where he works showed detectives surveillance video that matched the video of the man seen near the crash scene.

Roman turned himself in to police on Aug. 31 and now faces several charges, including leaving the scene of a crash with injury and driving with a suspended license.
