News: Driver dies after single-vehicle accident in North Lauderdale

NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL - A single-vehicle crash in North Lauderdale that killed a driver is under investigation, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said.

The accident at 5100 North State Road 7 was reported at 4:45 a.m., and traffic homicide detectives responded to the scene.

The investigators determined that a man was driving a Toyota Corolla north in the southbound lanes of North State Road 7 when his car hit the median and a traffic sign, rolling onto its roof before coming to rest.

The driver was pronounced dead after being transported to Broward Health North. His identity was not immediately released.

The sheriff's office said another driver on North State Road 7 hit the street sign that was in the roadway after being hit by the Toyota, but that driver was not hurt.
