SOUTH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL - Eleven people were injured in a boating accident near Boca Chita Key Sunday evening, according to the Miami Herald.
A total of 14 people were on board when a boat struck a channel marker and capsized north of the upper Florida Keys in Biscayne Bay at about 7 p.m. The U.S. Coast Guard, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and local marine patrol and rescue crews responded to the scene.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said four of the victims were critically injured in the incident and were flown to a Miami hospital. Seven other people sustained minor injuries.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
