New York Man Killed in Florida Boating Crash

A New York man was killed in a boat crash in Fort Pierce, Florida earlier this week.

WPTV.com reports that 65-year-old David Michael Klein was sailing in his 23-foot Key West boat when a collision ejected him from the vessel. The incident occurred at on Tuesday about 1:30 p.m. in the Intracoastal Waterway at Faber Cove.

Fishermen found Klein’s body and pulled the Kattskill Bay, New York resident from the water. Medical personnel at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center later pronounced Klein dead.

Authorities are not sure what caused the crash.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the tragedy.
