NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE NEGLIGENCE CAUSES PERMANENT PERSONAL INJURY TO PASSENGER

Posted under: Injuries — Laurel Chernoby @ 7:27 am

HAYDEN v. NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE

The following is a description of a personal injury case we have filed. This is a case involving a personal injury aboard the Norwegian Dream, a cruise ship owned by Norwegian Cruise Line.

Norwegian Cruise Line chose to have doors leading to bathrooms in the common areas of the ship with no door closers or with inadequate door closers or with door closers which Norwegian Cruise Line chose to maintain improperly and unreasonably. Further, some of these bathrooms are located near the exterior of the ship. Thus, the doors are subject to the wind blowing in and out from the exterior of the ship. This would include the door where the accident happened.

As a result of the negligence of Norwegian Cruise Line, the door opened by our client, Mrs. Hayden, in this case slammed on her hand and severed her ring finger on her left hand. That finger was completely severed and landed on the floor. It could not be re-sewn onto her hand and as a consequence of the negligence of Norwegian Cruise Line. Our client, Mrs. Hayden, has suffered severe, debilitating, permanent injuries, and scarring, disability and disfigurement and will continue to do so in the future.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN CREWMEMBER SUFFERS PERSONAL INJURY ABOARD SHIP

Posted under: Injuries — Laurel Chernoby @ 2:12 pm

FORTE v. ROYAL CARIBBEAN CRUISE LINE

The following is a description of a personal injury case we have filed. This is a case involving a personal injury aboard the Empress of the Sea, a cruise ship owned by Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Line hired our client, Mr. Forte, to work as a musician and entertainer in the piano bar. On the date of the accident, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ordered Mr. Forte to take a bow on stage as a stage performer, which Mr. Forte was not. Our client, Mr. Forte, objected to this but followed the order of his superiors. After our client took a bow on stage, as ordered, Mr. Forte was required to exit the stage by descending some steps, walked onto a landing, opened a door and then descended more steps toward the bow of the ship. This occurred at approximately 10 P.M. on the day of the accident.

After Mr. Forte got onto the staircase, it vibrated and shook rendering it difficult if not impossible to descend safely. Accordingly, our client, Mr. Forte, descended the staircase holding on to the railing on either side of the staircase and was pulled from side to side as a result of the vibrations. This pulling caused severe injury to his left shoulder, thus causing serious, permanent and debilitating injuries, both economic and non economic.
